When discrimination and prejudice run rampant in one’s society, it becomes essential to show your resistance in some form. It does not matter if it is related to race, gender, or body type. What matters is how you counter it.

Nigerian fashion entrepreneur Reni Abina does it by offering discriminated groups inclusivity in fashion. Fashion should be for everyone regardless of size, color, ethnicity, and religion. She does not only believe in this but strives to prove this point with her clothing brand, Rendoll.

Reni’s objective behind Rendoll is to offer attainable luxury to women worldwide while bringing the latest global women’s fashion to Nigerian women’s doorstep. To realize this vision, she imports premium fabric to design her collection, preferring quality over quantity.

Outfits in her collections have deep cuts and ruffles that highlight the curves of heavier women they can flaunt with confidence in public. Her designs also have bold solid colors and intricate prints that look good on plus-size black women, often ignored by famous designer brands offering Western wear.

Statistical information quotes that more than fifty percent of women say they are unhappy with clothing offered in their sizes.

Plus-size women speak about their fashion struggles due to their unique natural body shapes and curves. They share some designer brands launch limited designs and prints that are unique to their body type but at higher prices. These brands claim that more fabric is required to prepare these outfits. Reni dismisses this baseless rumor, sharing that most times, only less than a yard more is needed to make a size 18 instead of a size 10.

Reni’s fashion philosophy is simple: size should never dictate price. She believes everyone deserves access to fashionable clothing, regardless of their body shape. Her designs and prints ensure body positivity. She allows her clients to customize their dresses according to their measurements if they do not fit the standard size.

By modeling for her brand, Reni is sending black women a powerful message of self-love and empowerment. Many Nigerian models at Rendoll, with darker skin tones, gracefully carry Western outfits in bright colors and bold abstract prints. They represent Nigerian women dressed in global womenswear in Western styles like mini dresses, skirts, and maxis, which act as statement pieces in their closets. These artists have natural aesthetics, versatility, and beauty that many famous designers overlook. Such representation surely uplifts the confidence of dark-skinned plus-size women to ace global fashion.

Rendoll supports equality in fashion and offers flattering designs to women generally excluded from mainstream fashion due to their body shape and color.

You, too, can rock these inclusive designs. Find Reni’s latest collection here.
