A one-eyed Shih Tzu, a three-legged Pitbull and kitten, and Doodles the distant cat; all live happily under H Due and their wife, Megan’s roof. However, these aren’t the only animals that the certified veterinary technician takes care of. They also have eight lizards, two guinea pigs, and three fully-functional fish tanks. Nora Jean the Earless Queen became a part of this growing family in January 2020 and has adjusted with no problems.
Since Nora’s arrival, H started an Instagram page, @Nora.no.ears, dedicated entirely to her and documenting heart-warming moments to share with the world. The gray tabby enjoys snuggling with her canine siblings, making biscuits, and sleeping more than 20 hours daily. Soon after, Nora began to gain recognition as the ‘earless cat’ on the internet, and H saw potential in that.
While the world was thoroughly endeared to watching Nora in natural comfort with other pets, that was not all H Due wanted to showcase. As an experienced veterinary technician, they learned what it takes to care for animals, especially pets with disabilities. H has created their own personal animal care center with a little band of special misfits at home.
With their medical knowledge and clinical expertise, H has already assisted many pet parents, teaching them the best way to care for their pets. Moreover, they have provided precautionary tips to ensure a healthy life for their furry friends. H has used the same knowledge to care for Nora and their other pets. However, with Nora’s ever-increasing fame, they have also wondered about the possibility of opening The Due Zoo.
Still, in its initial phase, H’s central idea of The Due Zoo is to post their pets’ daily activities and routines. This will allow the audience to connect with Nora and their other pets even more. The Due Zoo can be another way for H to reach a wider audience of pet owners, so they can provide their veterinary expertise to those caring for senior or disabled pets.
And that’s not all! H has created a ‘sister’ account called @the.due.zoo to showcase the rest of their pets, to post their progress and connect them individually to the world. The dream behind opening The Due Zoo is to welcome more abandoned pets or those special-looking critters whom no one would spare a second glance to, let alone adopt.
Adopting Nora proved to the world that animals that look broken aren’t that difficult to take care of; they can live a healthy, everyday life like any other pet. H and their band of misfits: Nora, Matilda, Ramona, Doodles, and Jelly, are instilling this into millions of minds and plan to do much more.
