Why Dog Breeder and Influencer Mo Shaikh Skipped College After High School

Life is the name of making hard choices in order to garner success. When the time comes, no matter how unconventional it may seem, people have to choose a way. Some people shun leisure time for playing sports or games, streaming movies or dramas, hanging out with friends, or connecting with them online. And others swallow the bitter pill of skipping higher education. Mo Shaikh, now a serial entrepreneur and influencer, is a prime example of the latter.

Hailing from Texas, Mo was born to a first-generation immigrant family where he grew up watching his parents doing different jobs to get life going for all. When he and his siblings came of the legal age to earn, they chipped in to help with the bills. Everything went smoothly for the family. However, Mo was stuck between the gravitational pull of two after-graduation choices when he completed high school graduation.

“When I completed my high school years, I had two choices to move forward with,” Mo recalls. “The first one was to continue my education and join college, and the second one was to work at a cellular retail location. After substantial deliberation, I made a choice and went to work at that store rather than college.”

Mo reasons that it was more of the call of consciousness than capitulation to our financial conditions. He says that he would have continued his studies had he wanted, but at the time, he knew the time was ripe for making hard choices and getting some hands-on industry experience besides increasing capital. And then we all know the rest of the history.

With his savings from the job, Mo bought the store from his employer and founded CELL ER, a leading cell phone and other electronics repairing business at present. It’s scattered across Texas with ten stores and keeps flourishing with each passing year. Having earned a fortune from CELL ER, Mo also invested in a dog breeding business and started FrenchBabyBullz, where he breeds ‘unique and exotic’ bulldogs.

This business is particularly close to Mo’s heart because dogs were his childhood accomplices in naughtiness and playfulness, and because he always fancied opening a dog breeding business. FrenchBabyBullz is now a household name in the US for breeding bulldogs, many rarely seen elsewhere in the country. If you want to take a look at their breeds, Mo’s Instagram is the best place to go.

Last but certainly not least, FrenchBulldog Builders is Mo’s real estate venture. In the last five years, it has significantly increased in revenues, with now five properties under its ownership. Mo Shaikh did skip higher education, but he never missed what he dearly and anxiously wanted, and that’s one of the secrets behind his success.
