Australia’s Very Own Self-Proclaimed Gordon Ramsay – Meet Hospitality Entrepreneur Steve Sidd

Steve Sidd is a highly qualified food services specialist with more than a decade of experience in hospitality management, project management, and consulting. An innovator and pioneer of the industry, Steve has perfected the ability to operate and manage with excellence across multiple venues. His passion is to improve and support Australia’s hospitality industry and ensure that hospitality is seen as a career of choice across the nation.

Growing up in his family restaurant, it is no surprise that Steve deeply loves food. The restaurant his dad owned and operated was his happy place. Instead of going surfing with his mates, Steve claims to have spent his weekends in the kitchen, watching and learning. From a young age, he knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and one day own a restaurant. Of course, that was a big dream for someone so young, and Steve had no idea what the future had in store for him.

When he was 18, Steve decided to take his first step in the restaurant business. He found a small fruit shop and decided to start there. His father was more than encouraging and offered advice and help wherever he could. Over the years, Steve has owned and operated several cafes, bars, restaurants, and catering venues. Currently, he serves as Managing Director for his catering company, Catering HQ.

Steve believes that quality food has to be a part of the offered package. A high standard on the plate means that patrons will come back for more. As a result, everything at Catering HQ is made from fresh, high-quality products sourced locally. Currently, Steve is operating 26 dining concepts and over 40 event spaces where each of his locales offers a highly qualified team of professionals, of over 350 employees, to provide the highest quality of food safely and hygienically.

Passionate about everything he does, Steve is very hands-on when it comes to working in the hospitality industry. From staff training to greeting the guests, he loves being in the thick of it and encourages everyone to treat each other like kin. Hospitality is what he offers to people – to make them feel welcome. And that is the spirit he brings to his venues.
