IT expert Silvia Doomra was born in India in a small town called Jalalabad, Punjab. From an early age, she showed proficiency in Mathematics, and despite her mother’s dream of seeing her become a doctor, Silvia pursued a career in IT. She wanted to be an engineer, and her father supported her decision. Her brilliance and drive showed when Silvia was admitted to one of the best colleges in the country, Punjab Engineering College.
After completing her education, Silvia started working as a Software Development Engineer with Microsoft, before becoming the Principal Program Manager at Azure Global. Additionally, she has held the position of Senior Product Manager at Amazon Web Services. Her expertise lies in Program Management, Project Management, Strategic Planning, and Database Development.
In addition to showing her expertise in program development, Silvia has done a lot of volunteer work as well. She offered her services to give an introduction to Computer Science at Quincy High School. In 2016, she mentored and sponsored a girl from India who was seeking higher education and helped organize summer camps for children living in rural areas, teaching them Math and English. Throughout her career, Silvia has taken up one challenging project after another. She also managed to see them getting completed while working diligently, showing excellent leadership skills and empathy to the people involved.
Besides her various accomplishments, Silvia is also a thought leader in digital privacy in the digital space. Her goal is to raise awareness about the importance of data privacy. Privacy laws can benefit not only the consumers but the businesses as well – they prevent the information of an organization from fraudulent activities like hacking, phishing, and identity theft. With the digital landscape changing and growing every day, most companies and platforms do not prioritize the privacy of their customers during the product’s development cycle, resulting in the rise of cost when companies introduce privacy regulations at a much later stage.
Drawing from her years of extensive experience in the field of Information Technology, Silvia looks forward to creating systems that would help companies and organizations make their products privacy-aware in an effective yet easy manner. Not only will it cut back on the cost that would later plague these companies, but also it would assure the clients that their personal information is safe and will not be shared with any other organization.
Silvia’s goal is to be a pioneer when it comes to making digital privacy a mainstream idea and not just an afterthought. She has invested all her time and energy in the digital privacy domain, in the last five years. This has led her to gain a deep understanding of the rules and regulations, helping her create a strategized and effective solution to solve the issue of privacy at a large scale.
